Prescriptions

The Prescriptions Assistance Endowment Funds were set up in 1981 for uninsured and under-insured patients who are being discharged from the hospital and are unable to pay for necessary prescriptions to continue their health care.  Unfortunately, there is a rapidly growing need in our communities of patients needing this assistance.  MMF partners with local pharmacists for low cost prescriptions.  RHD Memorial Medical Hospital and Trinity Medical Center Case Workers call the MMF office when they have found a patient being discharged that cannot pay for their necessary prescriptions.  MMF pays a one time amount that allows the patient to be discharged, and if necessary follow the case workers' direction to get into the Parkland or other system.  Our hope it to keep these patients from having to return the the ER with the same illness, but possibly worse the next time, due to not having the necessary medicines.
